Clean Shots is a national winner!

Congratulations to everyone who has submitted photos to the Clean Shots photo contest – you have made us national winners! Every year, the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) holds a national contest to see who has the best hand hygiene initiative from across the country. The committee running the Clean Shots contest (which consists of members from the health authorities, PICNet, and the BC Patient and Safety Quality Council) entered the Clean Shots campaign into CPSI’s “What’s your hand in it?” contest. We were selected as one of the four finalists, and on World Hand Hygiene day (May 5th), we pitched the idea to the three judges, Dragon’s Den style. The presentations were broadcast across the country via WebEx, and the presenters were grilled by the judges after making their pitches. And BC’s Clean Shots contest won! What batted our presentation out of the park was the fantastic collection of photos we shared – from you! They really captured the spirit and enthusiasm that’s been building, and the judges all mentioned how impressed they were by this passion. So all BC healthcare workers are national winners! If you haven’t yet entered the contest, head over to www.picnet.ca/cleanshots. There are still weekly prizes to be won, a grand prize for the most creative photo, and a trophy for the health authority with the most photos. Let’s continue to lead the country in hand hygiene!
