As a networking collaborative, it is important that members of PICNet’s Community of Practice are able to come together from across the province to:
- Learn from each other about provincial projects and initiatives, and new developments in the field of infection prevention and control
- Learn about PICNet’s current projects and activities
- Help set the direction for future endeavours

2024 Provincial CPO Symposium
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, the Provincial Infection Control Network (PICNet) hosted their Provincial Carbapenemase-Producing Organism (CPO) Symposium in Burnaby.
2023 CPO / C. auris Symposium
On July 27, 2023, PICNet held a symposium on Carbapenamese-Producing Organisms (CPO) and Candida auris (C. auris). This in-person symposium brought together select infection prevention and control (IPC) professionals including leaders and epidemiologists, as well as medical microbiologists and public health partners.

2015 CPO Symposium
In March 2015, PICNet organized a meeting to tackle outbreaks of Carbapenemase producing organisms (CPO) and Clostridium difficile infection (CDI). Since then, they’ve developed surveillance strategies, prevention toolkits, and educational programs for health-care providers.
