Infection Control Week 2016
The theme of this year’s National Infection Control Week is
Infection Control Professionals: The Core of Infection Prevention and Control.
To celebrate this theme, all the BC Health Authorities are running features on their IPAC staff this month. (Although we’d like to add that we believe everyone is at the core of infection prevention!)
You can view your health authority’s features by following the links below. (Some health authority employees are able to view other HA’s intranets, while others can only view their own HA’s intranet)
Thanks to all of you — in every area of health care — for all that you do to help prevent infections!
Interior Health has an article in @IH Magazine, and an InTheLoop news story with profiles of the IPAC staff.
Northern Health has an online poster featuring the whole IPAC team; click on the staff photos to read their individual profiles!
PHSA has a new Meet the Team page on the POD; click on each photo to go to the individual profiles.
This week’s Spotlight Story talks to a Housekeeping Supervisor about their role in infection control, and gives 10 Infection Control Tips.
Watch for poster displays in BC Children’s, BC Women’s, BC Cancer, and BCCDC the week of Oct 17th, too; staff in these facilities can enter to win prizes.
PICNet has posted profiles of our staff, too.
Vancouver Coastal Health has a story in VCH News: Rowing in the Right Direction.
Providence Health has a PHC News story with profiles of their ICPs, plus a directory page of the IPAC staff on PHC-Connect.

If you still haven’t planned any Infection Control Week activities, it’s not too late; you can download PICNet’s Infection Control Week Planning and Communications Toolkit.
We also have our Let’s Go Viral! workshop-in-a-box kits available (although you’d have to get yours sent by courier to receive it in time for Infection Control Week).
You can also find links to games and other ideas on our Infection Control Week page.
