NEW PICNET TEAM MEMBER: DIANDRA MARK

We are pleased to announce that Diandra Mark joined PICNet on December 2nd as the Knowledge Translation Lead (formerly known as the Education and Practice Coordinator role). Diandra is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, Certification in Infection Control (CIC), and is a Master of Science in Public Health candidate at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Diandra most recently worked as an Infection Control Practitioner at Vancouver Coastal Health, supporting Vancouver General Hospital and GF Strong Rehab Centre. Additionally, her experiences include conducting a qualitative research study on personal protective equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic and providing education support as a Clinical Instructor at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine program at the University of British Columbia and infection prevention and control (IPC) education for the Environmental Health Program at British Columbia Institute of Technology. Diandra also volunteers as the IPAC BC Chapter Secretary and serves on the IPAC Canada Education Core Committee.

In the Knowledge Translation Lead role, Diandra will join PICNet’s Education and Practice team to lead the design and development of practice guidelines and education tools and programs for IPC professionals, health care providers, patients and families across the continuum of care. A key component of her role will be to work alongside PICNet’s Research and Knowledge Translation Lead to review and appraise evidence that informs new knowledge and/or maintain and update current guidance and education tools.

Diandra is a strong advocate for IPC, consistently championing initiatives to enhance infection prevention practices. We know that Diandra will be a great asset to our team.
