The refreshed website incorporates visuals and streamlines information with improvements in the page layout and drop-down menus. New postings address current infection prevention and control-related news. Information and links are updated where possible. We have a number of initiatives aimed at updating the content of our guidelines, toolkits and resources in the future.

PICNet is planning a symposium, to be held in July 2023, on the topics of Carbapenamese-Producing Organisms (CPO) and Candida auris (C. auris). The symposium brings together select infection prevention and control professionals including leaders and epidemiologists, as well as medical microbiologists and public health partners. The purpose of the symposium is to facilitate discussions with partners about increased activity and current evidence about these organisms, to learn from infection prevention and control professionals across the province about their experiences, and ultimately to discuss health authority surveillance protocols and update/establish provincial surveillance protocols for these organisms of interest.

COVID-19 specific resources are being updated and transitioned to general infection prevention and control, and viral respiratory infection resources. Revised signage, posters, and point-of-care risk assessment tool will be available soon. Resources will be posted on the picnet.ca website as they become available. Targeted communication will occur with the Provincial Infection Prevention and Control/Workplace Health and Safety Working Group members.
